CURRENT TRANSPORT
At small, median or large scale, currents interact on a complex way and determine floating objects transport and dispersion.
Mathematics models ensure by simulations the understanding, quantification and prediction of surface aggregate movements, like wastes, oil layer or jellyfish swarms. Models are a useful tool in the marine ecological study.
Floats with Argos beacon will be released in some areas and then recovered in order to follow floating wastes and jellyfish swarms routes. Data about drifting recollected with these experimentations will be used to adjust models developed in some sectors localized on the Mediterranean sea (occidental north basin in 2010 and 2011).
Beaching prediction will be done on that base.
