MEETING WITH THE ASSOCIATIONS THROUGHOUT THE MEDITERRANEAN COAST
As part of this action, Expedition MED will begin initiatives aiming to develop an ecological and eco-citizen conscience, with the intention of preserving this common heritage, the Mediterranean sea.
By promoting exchange between associations and a spirit of friendship among people, links between France and other countries throughout the Mediterranean basin will be strengthened as a result of this environmental project.
In the long term, the boat expedition route throughout occidental, Adriatic and oriental basins is a symbol of the need to involve all the coastal countries in the Mediterranean sea protection.
Partnerships already exist with Mediterranean environmental associations working on different aspects of the project. Associations are involved in discovering and participating in the research programme protocols and relay Expedition actions and messages.
In all the ports of call, events, meetings, debates, actions and conferences will be organized and receive media coverage in collaboration with these same associations.
These partner associations are also the campaign carriers for their own countries:
“1 Million clicks to save the Mediterranean sea”.
An Expedition Med team will follow the maritime campaign route by land to sustain local associations in each country and the scientific work at sea. This team will also arrange the meetings in the ports of call.
